Well described and explained in a number of ways. You wrote the problem yourself too. The next step in your learning is to just break down (partition/split) the smaller number to make is even easier to mentally calculate: 126 + 347 = 347+100+20+6
347 + 100=447
447 + 20 = 467
467 + 6 = 473
